Roof Rat Gnawing on High Voltage Wire

Roof Rats Wire Damage and House Fires

Roof Rats, aka. Rats in Attic means wire damage:

Did you know that 25% of house fires of "unknown cause" are attributed to Rodents in Attics- Roof Rats, Norway Rats and Mice chewing on wires?

Learn more:

Get Rid of Roof Rats - high voltage wire chewed The word “rodent” derives from the Latin verb rodere (to gnaw). Roof Rats are constantly gnawing on wood and wiring because their teeth are continually growing. For instance, the grey squirrel’s teeth (squirrels are rodents) grow a half a foot in length each year. Rodents, such as Norway Rats / Brown Rats and Roof Rats / Black Rats need to chew and gnaw constantly to keep their teeth’s length in check otherwise their teeth would get too long - rendering the Norway Rats, Roof Rats or Squirrels unable to eat and thus starve to death.

As a result of rats constant need to gnaw twenty-five percent of fires of “unknown cause” are attributed to rodents, such as Roof Rats, chewing on electrical wires. A failure to get rid of roof rats could lead to your house catching fire in the middle of the night.

Get Rid of Roof Rats or Get Attic FiresBased on figures from the US Fire Administration, a residential house fire occurs every 79 seconds in the USA. According to US Fire Administration statistics there are usually about 50,000 – 60,000 residential fires of “unknown cause” each year in America. The Department of Homeland Security estimates that they get reports from fire departments on only half of the actual number of fires that occur each year. This means that the number of fires of “unknown cause” could be double the 50 to 60 thousand yearly average. That is possibly up to 120,000 fires of “unknown cause” each year in the US. 25% of these residential fires are attributed to rodents such as roof rats chewing on wiring in basements, walls and attics. Based on DHS and Us Fire Administration statistics and statements made by DHS authorities, the number of residential fires cause by the failure to get rid of Roof Rats, Norway Rats and Mice are about 15,000 fires annually and could be as high as 30,000 fires caused by rodents like roof rats. If you have rodents, such as roof rats, in your attic – then you probably have wire damage caused by the roof rats chewing on the wires.

Get Rid Of Roof Rats - What Roof Rats Eat

Get Rid of Roof Rats by getting rid of citrusCitrus trees and Being Able to Get Rid of Roof Rats.

I many neighborhood in the Florida, Arizona and Southern California neighbors with a problem being able to get rid of roof rats get together and gather up all the citrus fruit off of the fruit trees in an effort to get rid of roof rats. These efforts to get rid of roof rats threat have invaded the usually "high end" neighborhoods are meant to get rid of what the neighbors believe is the roof rats major food source. But:

Get Rid of Roof Rats which drink the orange juiceDid you know that Roof Rats do not eat oranges for food? Rather, as I was told by one of the leading academic Roof Rats scientists, they use the oranges as a safe source of fluids. So if you get rid of all the oranges off your tree this may not really help you get rid of the roof rats in your attic. There is something else you or your neighbors may need to get rid of in order to get rid of roof rats in the neighborhood. Integrated Pest Management aka. IPM calls for reducing the roof rats' food sources in order to get rid of roof rats.

Get Rid of Roof Rats - Roof Rats eat dog poop

A Roof Rat’s favorite food is dog manure.

Get Rid of Roof Rats - Roof Rats eat dog poopFresh dog droppings are a gourmet meal for Roof Rats to get into. Roof rats will pass by a food source for 3-5 days without eating it - unless the roof rats get a whiff of another roof rats breath on the food. One of the odors given off by freshly deposited dog manure is the same as in roof rats' breath. The Roof Rats smell this odor and know the dog poop is safe to eat. If you or your neighbor(s) have dogs you could have a very hard time trying to get rid of roof rats - Unless you get rid of the dog manure the roof rats prefer to eat. And Roof Rats smell bad – no wonder!

Get Rid of Roof Rats with a poop scooperGet Rid of the dog manure in your neighborhood -

and you move a step closer to being able to get rid of roof rats in your neighborhood.

Do not just get your neighbors together to gather up and get rid of all the oranges off the trees but also get rid of your neighborhood's dog manure. This will get rid of another roof rats' food source - a nutrient rich, moisture filled roof rats safe food source.

You will be a step closer to being able to get rid of roof rats for good.

Pet Food Left Out is a Real Obstacle to Being Able to Get Rid of Roof Rats.

Get Rid of Roof Rats by not leaving pet food and water for roof rats to getNeighborhood Get Rid of Roof Rats Campaigns can be helped by a effort to get rid of left out pet food and water. Roof Rats will flourish with an abundant source of food and water to get into. And if it is on your back porch or in your back yard you have a ready roof rats' food source right next to your house! And, Roof Rats like to live near their food and water source - your attic. I have had homeowners (whose neighborhood is starting to have problems being able to get rid of roof rats) tell me that "My yard and home is safe from roof rats because my dog will chase them (the roof rats) away".

Well -

I have spoken to a vertebrate pest control expert (roof rats expert) who has watched roof rats sitting on a fence - waiting for a pet dog on a back porch to go to sleep and not until the dog was in a deep sleep stage did the roof rats then get down to the dog's food and water bowls and feed with the dog sleeping soundly right next to the roof rats. This was observed happening night after night - every night. Fido was clueless. Another thought, roof rats often will not sit besides your pets food dish and politely eat. Instead, the roof rats will sit in the middle of the food dish and urinate and defecate into your pets food dish or water bowl as they eat or get a drink.

Get Rid of Roof Rats by keeping trash cans secureIf you do not keep a close guard on your garbage - your roof rats will. Keep your trash can tightly sealed to help get rid of roof rats. Lids on tight. Trash cans that are in good condition - roof rats can get in through a hole the size of a quarter. Keep the outer surfaces of the trash cans clean to help to get rid of roof rats. Periodically thoroughly clean your garbage cans and garbage can area. If you want to get rid of roof rats then keep your garbage secure. A pest control strobe light in your garbage area will help to get rid of roof rats feeding on the trash. This is only advisable if the garbage area in enclosed by walls, partitions or sufficient plants to keep the strobes from bothering other animals or neighbors.

Get rid of roof rats food sources and you accelerate your roof rat control program - Why? Because roof rats are cannibalistic. When rats fight the winning rat often eats its defeated foe.

Get Rid of Roof Rats by rats competeing to get limited resourcesRoof Rats will kill and eat other Roof Rats. Being able to get rid of Roof Rats' food certainly does accelerate efforts to get rid of roof rats for good. Norway rats are the natural enemies of roof rats - and will hunt for roof rats and eat roof rats. Roof rats will eat another roof rat that is killed in a fight. Roof rats have developed resistance to poisons because roof rats will eat a roof rat that has died from eating rat poison. Get rid of roof rats' food sources and roof rats will get rid of themselves.

Get Rid of Roof Rats with Strobe Lights and rats move young ratsFemale roof rats are good mothers. The roof rats will care for their baby roof rats. Mother roof rats will move the infant roof rats from one nesting site to another if a nest site is deemed dangerous. After feeding their young roof rats - mother roof rats will lick the baby roof rats' bellies so the little roof rats can urinate - But if a mother roof rat is hungry - her normal food source removed - she will eat her young roof rats without hesitation.

To Get Rid of Roof Rats - It Helps to Know Where the Roof Rats are Able to Get into Your Home.

Roof Rats can gnaw through just about anything. I have seen a film in one of the pest control classes I have attended for maintaining my pest control Qualifying Party License where roof rats over time had chewed an access hole into a lead pipe so the roof rats could get into a building. (A QP lic. is not the average lic. that most pest control personnel have / applicators lic. - a QP Lic. makes a whole business legal to do pest control in the area(s) of the QP lic. holders license(s). It is similar to a doctor/QP compared to a nurse/applicators.) Roof rats will chew on a surface where they smell other roof rats breathe - thus the pipe over time becoming an access point where the roof rats could get in. How big of a hole can full grown roof rats (up to 18 inches long) get in through?:

Get Rid of Roof Rats - Roof Rat

Roof Rats can get as big as a small cat . So, how big of a hole can a roof rat this big get through.

Get Rid of Roof Rats that can get into hole size of US QuarterA hole the size of a US Quarter! If roof rats can get their pointed head through - then the roof rats can get their entire bodies through. Roof Rats are lazy hole chewers - according the the man who first called black rats "roof rats". Roof Rats like to chew holes - but unlike squirrels, the roof rats are happy with a small entrance and exit hole. Roof Rats are very careful rats and the smaller the access hole the less likely you or a predator will be able to find the hole and get into the hole to get the roof rats.

First, How Can Roof Rats Get Their Heads Through a Hole That Small?

The Roof Rat's Skull

Get Rid of Roof Rats whose skulls get small

Roof Rats Skulls are pointed like the roof rats heads - but there is an added advantage to roof rats that want to get into your home, attic and walls:

The skulls of mammals are designed to protect their brains. The individual plates in a mammal infant's skull fuse together to make the skull like a hardened helmet to protect the brain. But Roof Rats skull plates do not fully fuse together. So, the roof rats skulls are flexible and will compress just enough to get the roof rats though small holes without damaging the roof rats brains. But, won't the roof rats fat bodies get stuck - NO! If Roof Rats can get their heads through then two other factors help the roof rats get through a hole the size of a US Quarter. First, a roof rats rib cages are hinged at the roof rats spines - so the roof rats can get in as their ribs hinge inward and fold and flex as the roof rats wiggle their bodies through the small holes.

It does get worse! Roof rats can get through a small hole aided by the roof rats greasy fur. Roof rats get greasy because the roof rats in your attic regularly get together and defecate and urinate on the other roof rats of their roof rat family. This is done to scent mark all the roof rats in a family. The roof rats poop and roof rats urine will get rubbed in thoroughly until the roof rats cover each other. This is why roof rats leave grease marks around the holes where the roof rats get in attics.

Identifying roof rats signs helps in your fight to get rid of roof rats.

Roof Rats are filthy creatures. They will regularly mark other roof rats with their scent by defecating and urinating on each other. This leaves their fur coat coated with a black greasy covering (body oils, dirt, urine and feces) that gets deposited on the surfaces that they come in contact with.

Get Rid of Roof Rats - Ultrasonic Electronic Pest Repellents

Pied Piper hired to get rid of roof rats

Pied Piper Hired to Get Rid of Roof Rats

Federal Trade Commission Pest Control Device Inspectors Asked the FTC to Ban Ultrasonic Pest Repellers Because They Do Not Work to Get Rid of Roof Rats.

Been there, done that too! I wish I had my money back. That ultrasonic thing was expensive and the owner of the company told me how great it would work. Yeah buddy. It did NOT get rid of my roof rats at all! Did you know that several of the leading vertebrate pest specialists - PhD. Professors, experts in the field have tried to get the Federal Trade Commission to ban ultrasonic pest control devises because they do not work? The Federal Trade Commission has published a warning to all ultrasonic pest repeller manufacturers and retailers. There may be an initial effect but research shows that the pests return and become habituated (get used to the noise). How long do ultrasonics work? Research shows that the repelling effect last for 1-3 days, but after 3-7 days the pests become habituated to the noise and continue living in the space not bothered enough to leave their home. Additional research confirms that ultrasonic pest repellers may have a partial or transitory effect, but have no persistent effectiveness. Most academic researchers urge legislatures and consumers to view ultrasonic pest repellents with skepticism. The New York State Consumer Protection Board cautions against using ultrasonic repellers. In addition to this, contrary to the claims of many ultrasonic pest control device sellers, there is scientific evidence that some of these devices cause hearing loss in pets, most especially dogs . Even the US Army does not approve of ultrasonic pest control devices.

The Federal Trade Commission has product truth claims investigators that test products, for sale in the United States, to see if their product claims are true. The Federal Trade Commission uses only expert academics from leading Universities to perform product claim test. FTC vertebrate pest control experts tested Ultrasonic pest control devices to see if they actually repel pests such as rats, mice, cockroaches etc.. Ultrasonic pest control devices failed every test and the pest control device inspectors asked to FTC to ban ultrasonic because they felt the public was being mislead by the manufacturers and retailers of electronic ultrasonic pest repellers.

The Federal Pest Control Device Inspectors actually believed that the devices were so non-repelling to the pest that the pests could be trained to come to the ultrasonics sound emissions. The Federal Pest Control Inspectors believed that they could train rats to come to the devices by using them as a sort of dinner bell. They proposed a university experiment where food would be placed next to an ultrasonic pest control device only when the device was turned on and that the pest would come to the device - being trained that the devices sound emissions was a sort of dinner bell. In the folk legend of the pied piper the town was being over-run with black rats aka. roof rats. They rats followed the sound of the magical flute out of town as the pied piper played and walked.

The FTC turned down the proposed experiment and did not ban Ultrasonic Electronic Pest Repellents. The FTC explained that as long as the pest control devices were not physically harmful to the public the FTC would be overstepping in banning ultrasonic pest control devices.

The Federal Trade Commission Takes Action!

The FTC has started (in 2002) to prosecute companies that claim these products work to get rid of roof rats.

Get Rid of Roof Rats and Norway Rats and Rats behavior towards Rat Poison and Rat Traps

Rat Traps to Get Rid of Roof Rats?Mice investigate new objects in their home area. Rats, most especially Roof Rats, are suspicious of things that suddenly appear in their habitation area. Roof Rats are Neo-Phobic (afraid of new things) Rats. Norway Rats aka. Brown Rats, Sewer Rats and Roof Rats usually ignore Rat Poison and Rat Traps for 3 to 5 days or even weeks, especially if other food sources continue to be routinely available to the roof rats. Most Roof Rats will not eat a food or bait even when placed in the roof rats regularly traveled path unless the roof rats smell other rats' breathe on the food source or bait. Roof Rats are more cautious than Norway Rats. Norway Rats / Brown Rats seem to be as dumb as dirt and thus Norway Rats are much easier to entice to a Rat Trap or Rat Trap bait station. Norway Rats / Brown Rats prefer to be at ground level. Norway rats are low level dwelling rats. Norway Rats / Brown rats travel along the ground. Norway Rats routinely follow regular paths next to walls. Norway rats and Roof Rats do this for several reasons. First, Norway Rats and Roof Rats each have very poor eye site. Norway Rats and Roof Rats rely on their whiskers to feel their way along walls. Secondly, Norway Rats / Sewer Rats and Roof Rats are incontinent - Roof Rats and Norway Rats have no bladder control. Norway Rats' and Roof Rats' running movements cause the Norway Rats and Roof Rats to urinate in small amounts everywhere they run. Infant Roof Rats will die if their mother roof rats do not lick the bellies after each feeding. The licking motion on the belly is the only way baby Roof Rats can urinate. The roof rats' urine constantly left by running roof rats leaves a scent trail that they and other roof rats follow. These roof rats' scent trails can last for 2 years. On average, Roof Rats / Attic Rats and Norway Rats live for about one year in the wild. So, the scent trail(s) left by roof rats will get followed by other roof rats, and other roof rats etc.

Roof Rats are natural climbers. Roof Rats prefer to get up to and live in trees or attics where it is safer for the roof rats from predators and humans. Roof Rats are very cautious rats and intelligent in their behavior and thus it is hard to get roof rats to eat a rat poison or get caught in a rat trap. Roof Rats are also cannibalistic rats.  Roof Rats will eat other dead Roof Rats. This cannibalistic tendency in roof rats is one reason why Roof Rats are able to get immune to rat poisons, because at times dead roof rats will have died from eating poison and the secondary poisoning that occurs to the cannibalistic roof rats will not be enough to kill the roof rats but instead helps the roof rats to get a resistance to the poisons which will get passed down to the roof rats' offspring.

Get Rid of Roof Rats via Poisoning Roof Rats

Get Rid of Roof Rats via Poisoning Roof Rats

Trying to Get Rid of Roof Rats via Poisoning Roof Rats - If this really worked to get rid of roof rats then cities with large roof rat populations like Atlanta, San Diego, Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix, Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Memphis would be doing much better in their attempts to get rid of roof rats in their cities.

Roof Rats are very intelligent. Roof Rats are also Neo-Phobic (fearful of new things). Roof Rats will pass by a poison bait that has been placed directly in the roof rats normally traveled paths for days. If the roof rats do not smell another roof rats breath on the bait then the roof rats will not eat the rat poison. Roof Rats communicate to each other what is safe and good to eat. If roof rats "sample" several foods placed in their home range the roof rats will return to the roof rats nesting area and will quite literally "tell" the other roof rats where the food is and what is safe to eat. The roof rats, when they get back to the nesting area, will chirp in the ultrasonic sound range to the other roof rats to tell the other roof rats where the safe food if located. The roof rats that have found a safe food source will allow the other roof rats to smell their breath so the soon to feed roof rats will only eat the "safe food" source. Just as bees, which return to their hive, do a dance to tell the other bees where the flowers are - so too roof rats will tell the roof rats which have yet to feed. Then the informed roof rats will go straight to the "safe" food source. The roof rats will pass by the other food sources and only eat the "approved and safe" food.

When roof rats get a new food source - the roof rats will only eat small amounts. This way the roof rats avoid being poisoned. If roof rats "sample" a rat poison which is a one feed kill type of rat poison - then the roof rats will often get sick and will "tell" the other roof rats to stay away from the poison. If roof rats do eat enough of the one feed rat poison bait - then those roof rats die and the remaining roof rats will smell the poison on the dead roof rats snout and avoid the poison. In addition to this the roof rats that did not get poisoned by the rat poison because they did not eat it - will continue to feed on other "safe" food sources and tell the remaining living roof rats what to eat. One other consideration. Roof rats have become resistant to some "one feed kill" rat poisons because of the sampling behavior of the roof rats - some poisons have become ineffective because of the resistance the roof rats get as they feed on the poison bait do not die but become sick and thus stop "sampling" the poison bait and will also warn the other roof rats. Also, roof rats are canabalistic and will eat dead roof rats that they find and if the roof rats eat the dead poisoned roof rats - the feeding roof rats will often not get a lethal dose of the rat poison - but instead will get sick and thus avoid the rat bait they smelled on the canabalized roof rats snouts. Plus, this non leathal dose of the rat pioson, from the roof rats canabalistic behavior, has contributed to the resistance of some rat populations to certain rat piosons intended to get rid of roof rats.

So, the pest control community came up with multi-feed poisons. These rat poisons are meant to kill the rats by the gradual accumulation of the poison in the roof rats bodies and thus you can get rid of the roof rats. Some of these poisons are anti-coagulants. Anti-coagulants are rat poisons which kill the roof rats by causing the roof rats blood to thin to the point the the roof rats bleed to death internally.

This is one of the most used types of poisons to get rid of roof rats by killing the roof rats slowly.

But there is a BIG PROBLEM with using this type of slow kill rats poison to get rid of roof rats!

THE BIG PEST CONTROL RAT POISON "MYTH" THAT COULD LEAVE YOU WITH ROTTING ROOF RATS IN YOUR ATTIC AND WALLS:

The "Myth"

"This poison will make the roof rats thirsty and the roof rats will go to water outside and die outside and not in your attic and walls"

THIS IS WRONG!

I am in the pest control industry. I have a Qualifying Party License. I had to apprentice for years under another QP lic. holder to be given permission by the state my QP lic. is in to even test for the QP License. Most pest control operators only have an applicators license. Each pest control company has to have a person with a Qualifying Party License for the business to legally operate. The QP lic. holder is then in a supervisory role over the personnel with "applicators licenses". To give a frame of reference: As a doctor is in training and expertise to a nurse - so a QP to and applicator. I refer to most personnel with an applicators lic. as "90 day wonders" because they usually only have less than 90 days "on the job training" before they get their applicators lic. I have heard the most ridiculous things from pest control personnel that only hold applicators lic.. I have heard some really stupid things from these 90 day wonders (not ones that worked for me though) as they try to impress the homeowners with their pest control knowledge. One of the things "Oh, No the rats won't die in your attic - this poison makes the roof rats thirsty and the roof rats will go to water and die".

Truman's Pest Control Guide is referred as the "Bible" for Pest Control. Truman's is one textbook that, if one wants to pass their QP exams, will need to be studied diligently. Truman's talks about the anti-coagulate poisons designed to kill rats slowly. Truman's addresses this "they will go to water" and says that this is a proven myth - that the roof rats will usually go to their nests and die. And, that pest control operators should use these poisons with this in mind and not tell such myths to their customers. I have had homeowners tell me that they went to the hardware store - talked to the store personnel and have been told "the roof rats will go to water" myth and then had to deal with the smell of rotting roof rats in their attic and walls.

Not to mention that the sickened roof rats will not pass on this food source to other roof rats as a safe food source by either their death or the "telling" the other roof rats to avoid this food by verbal chirps and/or smelling the rat poison bait on the sick roof rats breath.

Get Rid of Roof Rats and Disease

Rodents can get and carry infectious diseases. The roof rats, also known as the black rats and the ship rats, spread bubonic plague through Asia and Europe hundreds of years ago. As much as 50 percent of the populations died. Most roof rats get resistant to the effects of the bacteria that cause plague. The roof rats get infected and carry the disease as host. On a visit to the Grand Canyon years ago, the group I was with was told by our guide not to feed the ground squirrels because if you were to get bitten you would be taken to the hospital and get shots to get rid of rabies and bubonic plague.

In northern Arizona, California, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico plague, aka “the black death”, has been found in the rodent population. In the Phoenix, Arizona area - the local prisoners have been put to work making bait stations to help to get rid of the roof rats problem. This makes me wonder if the Phoenix area health authorities are getting worried that the roof rats in Arizona will get infected with bubonic plague. If this occurs, via fleas, the plague could quickly get from the roof rats - get to pets (dogs and cats are also resistant carriers) and then get to the human population in rapid succession.

Moth balls in the attic to Get Rid of Roof Rats in the Attic is illegal and toxic to humans.

Get Rid of Roof Rats with mothballs - get used to wearing a gas mask. The use of moth balls in an attic or other spaces to get rid of roof rats in the attic is illegal in all 50 states . If you use moth balls to get rid of roof rats in the attic or to get rid of any other vertebrate pest or even suggest their use to get rid of roof rats to someone you are committing, at least a misdemeanor, and even a felony in many states. If you are considering using Moth balls to get rid of roof rats in the attic then you need to read this - Moth balls are toxic to humans and pets. Most moth balls are made from naphthalene which chemical companies get from coal tar. The gas emitted from moth balls is heavier than air and will seep / get from your attic into the lower levels of your home – your living areas. Many people will recommend moth balls to get rid of roof rats in the attic and to get rid of other pests. In states such as Arizona, California, Florida and New York this simple recommendation is a felony. Moth balls get rid of oxygen in the air. Their purpose is to suffocate moths in a contained environment. It is similar, very similar, to running a car engine in a garage with the garage door closed. Several years ago a friend had a yard man tell her to put moth balls in her attic to get rid the squirrels in her roof. It worked for a while to get rid of the squirrels in her roof - but the amount of moth balls she had to put in the attic spaces to get rid of the squirrels in her roof made her house stink of moth balls. Now, my friend could not smell the moth balls after several days, but everyone who entered her house was over-whelmed by the odor. I have asthma and when visiting her it greatly bothered my asthma. Two years later the lowest places in her house, such as bathroom cabinets, linen closets, etc. still smells of moth balls. Many people who make this huge mistake then spend years trying to get rid of the moth ball smell in their house. Good luck! To this day, freshly laundered towels that have been placed in her bathroom cabinets soon get the smell of the moth balls. Again, my friend could not smell the moth balls but everyone who entered her house could. Same thing with using mothballs to get rid of roof rats - the roof rats get used to the smell - unless you use so many moth balls that the toxic vapors are so heavy that the roof rats get out – which means these heavier than air toxic vapors are seeping down into your living areas and then get into your lungs and then get into your blood stream. Did you know that babies that have been wrapped in blankets which were stored with moth balls have been found to have high levels of naphthalene in their blood streams? Moth balls to get rid of roof rats or to get rid of other animal pest, been there – smelled that, in most cases it is illegal and very toxic.

What Works to Get Rid of Roof Rats is Something Most People Have Never Heard of - High Intensity Strobe Lights to Get Rid of Roof Rats.

This is an attic space with a high intensity get rid of roof rats control strobe light.

The high intensity flash only last 1/30th of a second and flashes 70-90 times per minute.

How they work to get rid of roof rats:

What makes the advanced strobe technology of the Rodent Strobe system so effective to get rid of roof rats?

Get Rid of Roof Rats - eye diagram

The ciliary muscle in the roof rats' eyes controls the expansion and contraction of the roof rats' pupils. The usual adjustments made by this muscle are small.  In response to the strobes in a dark (naturally dark or becomes dark at night) environment this muscle in roof rats' eyes has to make dramatic adjustments (140-180 times per minute). An ophthalmologist I spoke to, at a world-renowned clinic in Scottsdale AZ, likened it to this: Imagine you lift a ten pound dumbbell weight one time. Then imagine that you lifted the same weight 1,500 times in a ten minute period. Your arm would be hurting for days. The ophthalmologist said the strobes would have the same effect on roof rats' (and other animal pests’) eyes.  RESULT: YOU GET RID OF ROOF RATS FOR GOOD!

    Rodent Strobe Worked for:

"We had a terrible experience with roof rats in our attic. We tried pest control companies, traps and poison and nothing worked. Finally, we heard about the Rodent Strobe pest control strobe lights. After installing them, the rats were gone within just a couple of days and have not been back - we kept the strobes on to keep the rats from coming back in. These strobes are the only thing that worked! I highly recommend them".

    C.P. Phoenix, AZ

"I can testify that the Rodent Strobe solution to invading squirrels in the attic works! After several continuous repairs to chewed entrances I became desperate when it would happen again. I heard about Rodent Strobe on the radio and contacted them right away. The results were almost immediate. After a couple of days they left and they haven't been back! Thanks to this ingenious plan, I can now relax".(This testimony was emailed to Rodent Strobe Inc. 2 months after the strobes were installed.)

"Kevin, I just wanted to let you know that the rodent strobes we purchased for our fire station have worked perfectly. We have a station located in the middle of the Everglades and had a severe rodent infestation problem which resulted in $10,000 dollars in damages. We installed the rodent strobes and have had no infestation since. Thanks for a great product!" (This testimony was emailed to Rodent Strobe Inc. 10 months after the strobes were installed.)

"My attic had a nest of the fury tailed rats living in it. They were chewing on the rafters, they were chewing on the wiring, they even tried to chew on the blades of the exhaust fans. I installed 3 Rodent Strobes and then after a few days I closed the entrance holes and I havn't heard them up there since". (This testimony was emailed to Rodent Strobe Inc. 7 months after the strobes were installed.)

"No more traps! No more smells! No more Norway Rats! Dear Sir, Thanks to your innovative approach to rodent control I have been able to say good-bye to a problem we've had for years. A conventional-foundation home in a dense urban area I have learned is a natural gathering spot for our pesky friends. About the only good thing coming from this is the friendship I have developed with my pest control man. Smelling "that Smell" and cleaning out the traps in my basement had become a nearly weekly ritual. No more! I knew there had to be a more effective solution. After visiting your website, I decided to give Rodent Strobe a try. Installation was a snap, and I have not had a problem in months. Now I only get to see my pest control man for his regular quarterly visit, but we're both okay with that. I have told my friends and neighbors about your innovative approach to rodent and squirrel control. Best Regards -"

Get Rid of Roof Rats - testimony 2

"I ordered some of your strobes on 4/15/09. (this email's date 6/1/09) I must say, I am SO delighted! I could hear the monster squirrels in my attic, chewing chewing, playing, Lord knows what. Every morning I awoke to the sounds of their party. Tried trapping, and yes, even poison too, before I knew it was illegal to poison. Anyhow, they never ate it, and I never caught a thing in my traps smeared with peanut butter. I even hired a guy to take care of it.....and still, the evil squirrels remained in complete control of my attic space. After 4 months of fighting the infestation, I was literally in tears and did not know what to do. I'm widowed, and couldn't afford thousands of $$$ in repair bills and pest control companies. I spoke with you, and ordered 3 lights. The day after I installed, the sound stopped. The next day after the sound stopped, I awoke to sound and activity over my bed (that was their spot, right over where I sleep!) and I thought "OH NO, the lights are not working!" However, after I listened for a few seconds, I realized it was a "different" sound than their normal sound. It was a very ANGRY sound. The squirrel, or squirrels making it were simply furious, the excessive chattering was very intense and angry. I did not hear so much scrambling and playing, as angry, angry chattering. It lasted for two days. After two days, I never heard another sound--they apparently gave up and left. I was delighted they were so angry, because they'd been making me angry for months!!! Oh, hallelujah!!!!! I never even bothered to call the handyman back to check again for holes (which the monsters had literally CHEWED into my house near the chimney to gain access!!!), just left the light flashing in my attic. I just want to say THANK YOU THANK YOU for such a wonderful, useful product!! It's really saved my bacon!"

When Rodent Strobe asked T. B. in Flower Mound, Texas for permission to use this email on our testimonies page she responded on 8/27/09(4 months after the strobes were installed.):

"Kevin: By all means, yes, use the testimony. I am so delighted with this product, I tell everybody about it. It remains one of the best things I have ever bought. And the light still up there flashing away, not a squirrel, not a rat to be heard. One thing tho....when I got a lightning hit awhile back that fried my air conditioner unit, cable/internet, and phone lines, the HVAC guy and the insurance guy......and the cable guy.....and the phone guy....were all pretty freaked out when they went into my attic to assess the situation. Particularly the HVAC guy -- after I'd told him the lightning messed up my AC, and he opened the attic door to all this flashing when he went up there to check it. He jumped back and exclaimed 'WHAT IS THAT????" har de har har. Guess he thought it was the 220 volt cable that broke loose and dancing around, maybe. And I explained to him it was my squirrel chaser off-er, and he says skeptically "And that REALLY worked for you on the squirrels???", and I said 'YOU BETCHA, I wouldn't trade it for nuthin'!"

This might be a good time to mention that Rodent Strobe's High Intensity Pest Control Strobes have built-in surge protection.

Get Rid of Roof Rats - testimony 3

"I have had problems with squirrels getting in my attic for about ten years. The noise they made bothered me and I hated the holes they made in my house. I called a nationwide pest control service and they gave me the name of a man who would come out and trap the squirrels. The man charged me $250.00. I hired him two different times but did not notice a difference. Then I had the strobe lights installed. They work. They ran the squirrels out". (This testimony was emailed to Rodent Strobe Inc. 10 months after the strobes were installed.)

    A.M. Memphis, TN

"Kevin: I had a problem with squirrels in my attic. I discussed the problem with some friends. One suggested placing a snake in the attic. I told him the wife and I would move to the nearest motel if we knew that a snake was in our attic. Finally the wife researched the internet and came across your product. I ordered one strobe with a long cord. Sometime last fall I placed the strobe in the attic and the results were amazing. That night the squirrels left the attic. I stood out in the yard as the sun was setting and watched two unhappy squirrels attempt to enter the attic through a hole in the vent. They finally left and headed toward a neighbor's house where life was easier. ... You have a really fine product."

    H.C. Florence, AL

When I asked for permission to use this email on my website H.C. replied:

"Kevin: or course you may use my email letter in your testimonies page. You really do have a great product."

For seven years I had problems trying to get rid of roof rats in my Scottsdale, Arizona home. I tried everything to get rid of the roof rats. We had our home sealed twice and set traps numerous times, but we still were unable to get rid of the roof rats. We hired 3 or 4 pest control companies and they could get rid of the roof rats either. We had periods of no roof rats attic noise and no smell, but the roof rats would come back following previous generations’ urine scent trails (which can last for years). One day after a recent re-infestation we heard a roof rat in the attic above our living room. As I heard the roof rat near a ceiling light fixture the light started to flicker and made an electric buzzing sound. I realized the roof rats were chewing on the wires in the attic and it dawned on me that “the smell” was not our biggest concern – A house fire was!

My efforts to get rid of the roof rats once and for all intensified. These efforts led me to strobe lights to get rid of roof rats. After trying strobes from several different manufacturers, I found what I believe to be the best strobe lights manufactured to date-and was able to get rid of roof rats in my home for good. My wife was so happy that we were finally able to get rid of the roof rats - happy wife - happy life!

After two years of research, patent searches and counsel, product development and testing, field research and lab experiments, consultations with pest control professionals including owners of pest control companies and leaders in the academic arena, I have developed a line of sturdy and long lasting pest control products which have been proven to get rid of roof rats. Rodent Strobe is “the long term solution™”.
